Maucker Union Renovations  | Cedar Falls, IA

West Plains Engineering has worked closely with the University of Northern Iowa for more than 15 years, completing more than two dozen projects campus-wide. Several of these projects have taken place at Maucker Union, which houses the university’s student life activities.

In 2000, we were fortunate to be a part of a major renovation and expansion to Maucker, which added 20,000 square feet and modernized the facility into the building students use today. Our systems serve food service, common areas, ballrooms, meeting rooms, staff offices, computer labs, the Campus Center for Multicultural Education, International Services, the student newspaper and campus radio station.

Since, our engineers have been invited back for renovations to the lower level, improvements in energy performance and the most recent addition to the Multicultural Offices.

In total, we’re successfully designed systems for more than $11 million in construction to Maucker – developing a strong relationship with the building and the facilities personnel who keep it running.
