Public safety facilities are having a moment in the AEC industry. Across the country, communities are investing in new and renovated correctional facilities, law enforcement centers, dispatch facilities, courthouses, and public safety campuses as aging infrastructure struggles to keep pace with modern operational demands. At the same time, strong public funding and capital investment are helping move many of these projects from planning to reality.
But replacing outdated spaces is only part of the story.
As communities plan for the next generation of public safety facilities, design teams have an opportunity to help solve challenges that extend far beyond the building itself.
